has created similar parameters
for that check.

Choosing What
to Track
We don't want to waste space
or CPU to store and process
unnecessary data. We don't want
to track address spaces that are
short-lived or that consistently
use so little storage that they
never have the potential to
exhaust it. With V2.2, the new
private storage exhaustion check
dynamically determines the most
relevant address spaces to track
based on their storage usage
coupled with the amount of
time the address space has been
active. It doesn't matter when
these address spaces started as
long as they are using "enough"
storage and have been active
long "enough." Configurable
parameters have been provided
to define "enough" for the
minimum amount of storage
used and the time address
spaces must be active before data
collection will occur for their
individual storage locations.
In addition, resources won't be
spent modeling the data to create
a prediction if the resource usage
is too low or the usage trend
isn't increasing. The percentage
of usage to currently available
space required before the data is
modeled is also configurable.
This feature is implemented
for the existing PFA_JES_
SPOOL_USAGE check as well.
Previously, it only tracked
address spaces that started
within the first hour after IPL.
Now, it dynamically determines
which address spaces to track
based on the amount of time the
address space has been active
regardless of when it started.
A configuration parameter has
been added to this check to
define the minimum amount
of time the address space must

be active before its data for this
check is collected.
PFA has allowed you to exclude
address spaces from processing
for most checks since V1.12. This
feature is especially useful for
address spaces that would skew

the historical data and cause PFA
to create invalid predictions (e.g.,
test programs or address spaces
with erratic or unpredictable data).
However, until V2.2, you
couldn't require that PFA track
the address spaces that are
